Who writes this

I'm Stephen V., an enthusiast who's genuinely into pickleball and the gear around it. I'm not a coach, I don't hold a certification, and I don't run a lab. What I do is read the manuals, compile the published specifications, and do the math so a first-time buyer doesn't have to. No lab coat, no sponsorships — just plain-language picks and the reasoning behind them.

That framing matters, so I'll be blunt about it: a lot of gear sites lead with "tested by experts" and "we play-tested 60 paddles." We don't make those claims, because they wouldn't be true for us. Instead we compete on something we can actually stand behind — a transparent, reproducible method and prices that are genuinely live.

Why this site exists

Buying your first pickleball paddle is weirdly stressful. The listings are a wall of jargon — swingweight, thermoformed cores, T700 carbon, elongated vs widebody — and every site tells you their favorite pro's $220 paddle is "the best." For a beginner, that's the wrong advice at the wrong price. Post & Paddle is built for exactly one person: the newcomer who just wants to know what to buy first, why, and roughly what to spend.
